Psychological assessment, coaching and therapy for adults

Educational Assessment and Diagnosis of Specific Learning Difficulties and Neurodevelopmental Conditions

We offer assessment and diagnosis within an educational context (e.g., university, college, school) for specific learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions, including (but not limited to): dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder; DCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism (ASC). We offer assessments to adults (over 16 years of age), children, and adolescents, and we offer coaching to neurodivergent adults.

We use highly specialised cognitive tests and clinical interviewing to understand our client's strengths and difficulties. This approach helps us to understand each client's unique neurodivergent profile and lived experience in the world. We provide a detailed assessment report with recommendations for educational support. These reports are accepted as evidence for access to support through the disability students' allowance (DSA), and by exam boards. Most of our educational assessments are conducted online via Zoom or MS Teams; however, we can facilitate face-to-face assessment for clients based in north eastern Scotland.

If you are interested in having an educational assessment and wish to understand in more detail what is involved, please get in touch through our 'contact us' form and we will be in touch to discuss your needs. We work with a number of universities and colleges in Scotland and Ireland. If you are a further or higher education provider needing further support for your neurodivergent student assessments, please complete the 'contact us' form.

Coaching, Counselling & Psychotherapy

We offer a range of coaching, counselling and psychotherapy support on a short-term or long-term basis. We discuss our clients goals with them to determine the best approach in terms of treatment. We begin with an initial (free) session to discuss everything in more depth and decide together whether we would like to work together. If we both agree that we would like to work together, then we take things from there. Frequency, times, and dates of sessions can be tailored to suit our clients' needs. We will schedule regular reviews to ensure we provide a consistently useful and productive service.

Coaching, counselling and psychotherapy sessions take place on a one-to-one basis mostly online (via Zoom or MS Teams). We started operating online during the height of the pandemic and have continued since then, mainly as a result of positive client feedback. The benefits to you include not having the expense and time of travelling and being able to take part in therapy from the comfort of your own home. We can also offer face-to-face sessions to clients who can travel to our office in Aberdeenshire, in the northeast of Scotland (Huntly). Just let us know when you fill in the Contact Form and we will be in contact to discuss your needs further.
